Actually, it doesn't even have to be a house. It might be the future site of a house, or a great bit of country you call all your own. The generalism for us is that the property is self-contained. So that may include houses, apartments, bush blocks, cottages, caravans, even some motels. As long as it is in the spirit of a holiday house or holiday rental.
Some people call them a holiday house, but they could also be called a holiday home, a beach house rental, holiday apartments and a myriad of other terms, but all in all they are all holiday houses.
There is no charge to advertise a holiday house with a standard listing. If you wish to feature your property (front of the search returns and two photos) you can do so for only $22 a month
Well, simply put, what it is. A holiday house can be a beach house, a country house, a mountain house, or fit our other types of holiday rentals. If it doesn’t fall into one of our specific types it will be classified under “Everything” and may be found by a geographical search.
From time to time we may re-assess these so if you have any suggestions for types of holiday houses please let us know.
A characteristic of a holiday house is more or less “where” but not geographically, just relatively, so it refers to the holiday house being “on the beach”, “near the beach”, “in town”, “in the vineyards”. Or it could be a feature of the property, for example, “acreage”, “income producing/working property”, “gardens” and so on.
You can search by a type of holiday house. Just select “Beach” or “Country” and then type in the geographic area you would like to search. You can also narrow your search by using the characteristics, for example, select “Beach House” and then “on the beach” and then your area.
So if you are looking for a holiday rental that is a Beach House, on the beach, on the North Coast you can find it!.
If you know where you want to be but don’t want a type of house, just select everything and type in the geographic area. Conversely, if you know the type of house you want but don't mind where, you don't have to nominate an area.
It is very straight forward but can also be very precise.
Holiday houses are returned based on the search criteria and the most recently updated. Properties that are featured will return first, the last return will be properties without photos, but we would hope to have photos of every property.
If you are searching for a holiday rental and you are using the calendar search, properties that use the calendar and are available will return first, then the normal order will apply based on your criteria for finding a holiday house.
When people think of a holiday house they think of white sandy beaches, cosy log fires, wide open spaces, and sweeping mountain vistas, so make sure you include great evocative photos of your holiday rental and surrounds. The better your photos the better your results. You can load up to 6 photos, each up to 5mb. We do not accept .bmp images.
To take full advantage of our picture viewer you should upload large, clear pictures. Please ensure the photos you upload relate to your holiday house.
The calendar is a tool for property owners to update when the holiday house is either booked or unavailable. It assists both holiday makers and holiday property managers in sourcing their needs and we encourage property owners to update it frequently. Not all property managers will choose to use the calendar and in this case you will have to email or call for available dates.
Yes, we try and provide you with as much information as possible. If the holiday house has a website we encourage the owners to list it. If a link to the website is available you will find it from the buttons at the bottom of the full property description.
We license Google Maps and the location of the property appears at the bottom of the property description. We think this is the best mapping tool on the planet so if you want to have a browse of the area, just go to Google Maps, or zoom in or out on the map at the bottom of the holiday house description.
If you have found a link to a webpage, or an email that does not seem to work for a holiday house please let us know. Go to the problems section of the Contact Us page, give us the details and we will attempt to rectify it and contact the property owner.
Simple, just select the "Everything" porthole and type the name of the city or suburb you want in the "Where" section and you will return all styles of holiday houses in that area.
